Technology Penetrates Tradition (July 2009)
Info on the TPT Project
From the 9th until the 23rd of July 2009 I was in Macedonia, for a project
called Technology Penetrates Tradition which is organised by the ZOEY
foundation. Together with nine other students from my faculty we went there to
learn from, create and perform together with Macedonian instrumentalists.
They brought their instrument, we brought our laptops/controllers/etc.
I mainly worked together with Lejla Beqiri, a brilliant flautist.
After explaining her the electronics and working on improvisation,
we made this piece;

Sound design / music for dance performance "Chrysalis" (2010)

While living in London I collaborated with contemporary dance artist Anita
van de Watering to make a short piece about breaking free from daily routine
by actively exploring the boundaries of your capabilities.
It was performed on the 6th of February 2010 at Moving Arts Base in London.

Yo!Opera, De Operaflat (Summer/Fall 2009)
Get Microsoft Silverlight
Info on the Yo!Opera Project
Together with two singers from the Conservatory in Den Hague, a director
and a boy still in high-school, we made one of the 25 mini-opera's
performed in a flat in Utrecht. The high school students interviewed
people who live in the flat, then made a text of it. I composed the music
and the singers sung it. Then the director came in and finished the visual
aspect of the opera. All this happened in good conversation with the "team".
The whole idea of De Operaflat is co-creating a mini-opera with people who
have different backgrounds, etcetera.
Video of the final mini-opera's is included.

ITHAK Ensemble feat. HKU Students (2010)
"For a the HKU Symposium French band ITHAK got together with three
students from the Utrecht School of the Arts (HKU) to do a set of
improvised music. They played two sets of roughly 45 minutes both.
This is the first one. Thanks to Arjen de Vreede for making this happen."
I did DSP and analog live electronica on a big kalimba, synth and drums.
